About the course

In this course you’ll get an introduction to conflict resolution and personal growth. The course builds on the process of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and insights from the field of adult development.

Across two full days you’ll absorb a number of clarities, skills and tools that contribute to your development in your relationships, at work or in private.

The course opens with theoretical pieces on NVC and adult development. The remaining time is for practice.

Content

My ambition is for you to gain a deeper understanding of, among other things:

the difference between observations and interpretations, feelings and thoughts, needs and strategies, requests and demands, and how it helps to keep these apart
conflict resolution and adult development
empathy, honesty, and a focus on vulnerability as alternatives to win/lose and right/wrong thinking
the difference between dominance-based and needs-based systems
the difference between empathy and sympathy

We’ll practise how we can, among other things:

hear others’ feedback without going on the defensive
give others feedback in ways that reduce the risk of them going on the defensive
turn self-criticism into learning and growth
communicate more clearly
handle conflict in ways that deepen your relationships
focus on process, connection, and the conditions that reduce our dependence on specific outcomes

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge required. You’ll get more out of the course if you read Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life by Marshall Rosenberg, or listen to The Nonviolent Communication Training Course. Read more about NVC at Föreningen NVC Sverige.

Sign up by 20 November 2022 at the latest.

The participation fee is 1,750 SEK. Sign up below. You can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before the course starts via this form. After that, I refund your fee minus 300 SEK. If you have cold symptoms, you can cancel any time at no cost.
